GAZ (Wolga/Chaika)

GAZ stands for "Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod" which means Gorky Automobile Plant. It was founded in 1929 as a Soviet factory for the production of Automobiles. In the beginning GAZ built licences models of the US American Ford Motor Company, later it became a manufacturer for a wide portfolio of vehicles: passenger cars, offroad-cars, trucks, busses and military vehicles. GAZ built cars under different brands like Volga or Chaika.
